Abstract
It is the aim and responsibility of Institutions of Higher education to offer excellence and high quality teaching with a highly skilled and motivated teaching staff. It is therefore necessary to develop practice-oriented curricula to meet the demands of the current work markets, fostering in the students the need to go beyond, exploring the resources to further their knowledge, creating also conditions for the training of new engineers in various areas to reach the desired excellence. Teaching engineering involves much more than knowledge and principles. The best way to do it is by experimenting and testing like in real life. The first requirement should be to engage the students in laboratory activities to teach them to master the minimum requisites. They do appreciate the fact that it allows them some freedom and accessibility to the various learning resources.
