dc.description.abstract | This paper presents the Performance Measurement Engine (PME), which was designed to facilitate performance measurement in complex manufacturing environments. The PME Solution was developed to streamline and speed up the assessment of a manufacturing system's performance using an innovative performance management data model approach. The proposed tool aims to enhance the High Performance Management Resolution concept based on the need to analyse the performance of a production system to the highest level of detail possible. Due to the decrease in the product life cycle, the respective production systems need to be controlled more tightly in order to make it possible to detect bottlenecks and malfunctions before they become critical for the system's behaviour. Within the proposed approach it is possible to define and model any kind of key performance indicator (KPI), expected targets for the different production entities (product, production system sectors, human and machine resources) | en |
